Persatuan Sepakbola Biak dan Sekitarnya, commonly known as PSBS Biak, is an Indonesian football club based in Biak Numfor Regency, Papua, Indonesia. The club currently plays in Liga 2. The club will play in the Liga 1 next season.
History
PSBS Biak was founded on 12 December 1964, PSBS Biak gait was not as fortunate as other Papuan clubs such as Persipura Jayapura, Persiwa Wamena, Persidafon Dafonsoro, Persiram Raja Ampat, and Perseru Serui. They just promoted to Premier Division in the 2011–12 season after winning the Liga Indonesia First Division in the 2010 Liga Indonesia First Division.
For eight seasons surviving in the second tier competition, PSBS Biak had to be overtaken by rival, Persewar Waropen, who successfully made history by qualifying for the Second Round of 2019 Liga 2.
PSBS Biak managed go through to the semi-finals of 2023–24 Liga 2 season. PSBS Biak defeated Persiraja Banda Aceh on 5–1 on aggregrate and go through to the final. Thus PSBS Biak secured a promotion for the first time in history to the Liga 1. In the final match which was held over two legs, PSBS managed to become champion after beating Semen Padang 3–0 in the home match in the first leg and the away match in the second leg again won 0–3 with a 6–0 aggregate win. Alexsandro managed to win two individual awards at once, Top Scorer with 19 goals and being the Best Player too.
O clube foi fundado em 1954 e jogou na Primeira Divisão da Indonésia de 1994 a 2008. Retornou à primeira divisão em 2010, mas foi rebaixado novamente em 2012.
O PSBS Biak é um dos clubes mais populares da Papua e tem uma grande torcida. O clube é conhecido por seu estilo de jogo ofensivo e pelas suas vitórias sobre times grandes.
O maior rival do PSBS Biak é o Persipura Jayapura. Os dois clubes se enfrentam regularmente na Liga da Indonésia e na Copa da Indonésia.
O PSBS Biak tem um excelente histórico na Copa da Indonésia, tendo vencido o título em 1969, 1974 e 1991.
O clube também representou a Indonésia em competições internacionais, tendo participado da Copa da AFC em 1997, 2000 e 2001.
