Lweza Football Club was a football club based in Kampala, Uganda. They played their home games at the Mutesa II Stadium in Wankuluku.
History
Lweza football Club competed in the Uganda's top flight Premier League. The Kajjansi based side was founded in 1990 to provide a premier-level experience through professional training and player development programs built upon the international guidelines.
Lweza football Club developed into one of the largest and successful sports clubs in Uganda, boasting over 70 players in both professional and youth teams.
Lweza FC was a non-profit association that worked in conjunction with committee members, players, volunteers, coaches and managers to provide a football club for the whole community. It relied on volunteers for its success and all money raised was used to benefit the club and the surrounding community.
In 2017, the club was sold to Jude Mbabali, a lawyer and politician.
O Lweza FC foi fundado em 2005 e disputou a Divisão 2 da FUFA até 2010, quando foi promovido para a Divisão 1. O clube permaneceu na Divisão 1 até 2014, quando foi promovido para a Super Liga de Uganda.
O Lweza FC disputou a Super Liga de Uganda por três temporadas, de 2014 a 2017. O clube terminou em 10º lugar na temporada 2014-15, em 11º lugar na temporada 2015-16 e em 15º lugar na temporada 2016-17.
Em 2017, o Lweza FC foi rebaixado para a Divisão 1 da FUFA. O clube permaneceu na Divisão 1 até 2019, quando foi promovido novamente para a Super Liga de Uganda.
O Lweza FC disputou a Super Liga de Uganda por uma temporada, em 2019-20. O clube terminou em 16º lugar e foi rebaixado novamente para a Divisão 1 da FUFA.
O Lweza FC é um clube relativamente jovem, mas já conquistou alguns títulos. O clube venceu a Copa de Uganda em 2015 e a Supercopa de Uganda em 2016.
O Lweza FC é um clube popular em Uganda e tem uma grande torcida. O clube é conhecido por seu estilo de jogo ofensivo e por seus jogadores talentosos.
