ART Municipal Jalapa is a Nicaraguan football team playing at the top level. It is based in Jalapa.

They currently play in the Primera División, playing their home matches at the 1,000 Estadio Alejandro Ramos.

History

After the demise of Deportivo Jalapa in 2007, a new club was formed in 2011 naming themselves Municipal Jalapa ART. The club won both the 2012 Apertura and 2013 Clausura title to earn promotion to the first division for the first time in their history and the first time a team from Jalapa appeared in the Primera division in six years.

In their very first season, despite only having one foreign player in Honduran Luis Maradiaga, the club was able to finish in fifth place just missing the semi-final spot by 2 points.

O Deportivo Jalapa é um clube de futebol da Guatemala, com sede na cidade de Jalapa. Foi fundado em 1947 e manda seus jogos no Estádio Las Flores, com capacidade para 10.000 espectadores.

O Deportivo Jalapa é um dos clubes mais tradicionais da Guatemala, tendo conquistado o Campeonato Nacional em três ocasiões (1951, 1955 e 1970). Também foi vice-campeão em outras duas edições (1952 e 1971).

Na Copa da Guatemala, o Deportivo Jalapa conquistou o título em uma oportunidade (1968). Também foi vice-campeão em outras duas edições (1951 e 1955).

O Deportivo Jalapa participou de várias edições da Liga dos Campeões da CONCACAF, tendo alcançado as semifinais em 1971.

O clube também participou de várias edições da Copa dos Campeões da CONCACAF, tendo alcançado as quartas de final em 1969.

O Deportivo Jalapa é um dos clubes mais populares da Guatemala, tendo uma grande torcida apaixonada. O clube é conhecido por seu estilo de jogo ofensivo e por sempre lutar até o fim.
