Hangzhou Qiantang Football Club (Chinese: 杭州钱唐足球俱乐部) is a Chinese semi-professional football club based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, that competes in Zhejiang Super League Division A, the fifth tier of Chinese football.
History
The club was created as a result of a collaboration between three local amateur football clubs in Hangzhou: Hangzhou Ange, Hangzhou Qimeng and Hangzhou T60 in 2017, its name derived from the historical kingdom of Wuyue that Hangzhou was once the capital of, as well as the historical name of the city, Qiantang.
In 2018, the team qualified for the play-off stage of 2018 Chinese Champions League. After beating Shenzhen Xinqiao and Shanxi Metropolis in the play-offs, the club advanced to the semi-finals, securing a spot in the final four of the highest level of Chinese amateur football, and gaining promotion to China League Two. Although their promotion was denied at first, they were finally granted a last-minute admission into 2019 China League Two after the dissolution of Yanbian Funde in China League One and the subsequent promotion of Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic, securing its final spot.
Before 2020 season, the club withdrew from China League Two.
O clube foi fundado em 2020 por um grupo de empresários locais liderados pelo empresário Wu Xiaohui, com o objetivo de promover o futebol na cidade de Hangzhou. O clube começou a jogar na Liga Três Chinesa, a terceira divisão do futebol chinês, sendo campeão na temporada 2021. Com isso, o clube conseguiu o acesso para a Liga Dois Chinesa.
O Hangzhou Wuyue Qiantang manda seus jogos no Estádio do Centro Esportivo de Hangzhou, com capacidade para 52.672 pessoas. O clube tem como cores oficiais o azul e o branco.
O elenco do Hangzhou Wuyue Qiantang é composto principalmente por jogadores chineses, com alguns estrangeiros. O principal jogador do clube é o atacante brasileiro Éder, que se juntou ao clube em 2022. Outros jogadores notáveis do clube incluem o goleiro chinês Han Jiaqi, o zagueiro chinês Jiang Zhipeng e o meio-campista chinês Wu Xi.
O Hangzhou Wuyue Qiantang é um clube jovem, mas ambicioso. O clube espera se estabelecer na Liga Dois Chinesa e, em breve, conseguir o acesso para a Superliga Chinesa, a primeira divisão do futebol chinês.
