Sport Football Club Hapoel Kiryat Yam (Hebrew: מועדון ספורט כדורגל הפועל קרית ים), or simply Hapoel Kiryat Yam (Hebrew: הפועל קרית ים), was an Israeli football club based in Kiryat Yam.
History
A previous club named Hapoel Kiryat Yam was founded in 1964, and in its prime, played thirteen seasons in Liga Bet, then the third tier of Israeli football (the fourth tier since 1976), from the 1968–69 season to the 1980–81 season, in which the club was relegated to Liga Gimel.
Another club, named Sport Club Kiryat Yam, or simply F.C. Kiryat Yam, was founded in 2008 and was in existence for only three seasons, until the end of the 2010–11 season, while playing in Liga Gimel.
The current club was founded at the summer of 2014 as Sport Club Kiryat Yam, and registered at the Israel Football Association for the 2014–15 season in Liga Gimel as Sport Football Club Hapoel Kiryat Yam.
O clube foi fundado por um grupo de entusiastas do futebol na cidade de Kiryat Yam, no norte de Israel. Nos primeiros anos, o clube jogou nas ligas regionais, mas logo conseguiu subir para as ligas nacionais. Na temporada 1968-69, o clube conquistou o título da Liga Alef, a terceira divisão do futebol israelense, e foi promovido para a Liga Leumit.
O Hapoel Kiryat Yam jogou na Liga Leumit por quatro temporadas, mas foi rebaixado para a Liga Alef em 1972. O clube retornou à Liga Leumit em 1974 e permaneceu na segunda divisão até 1981, quando foi rebaixado novamente.
O Hapoel Kiryat Yam passou os anos seguintes jogando nas ligas regionais e na Liga Alef. Em 2007, o clube conquistou o título da Liga Alef e foi promovido para a Liga Leumit.
O Hapoel Kiryat Yam jogou na Liga Leumit por três temporadas, mas foi rebaixado para a Liga Alef em 2010. O clube retornou à Liga Leumit em 2012 e permanece na segunda divisão até hoje.
O Hapoel Kiryat Yam nunca conquistou um título nacional, mas chegou à final da Copa do Estado de Israel em 1970. O clube também disputou duas edições da Copa da UEFA, em 1971 e 1979.
