TSG 1899 Hoffenheim II is the reserve team of German association football club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, based in Hoffenheim, Baden-Württemberg. The team has been playing in the tier four Regionalliga since 2010.
History
With the rise of the first team the club's reserve side, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim II, started to climb through the ranks, too. It entered the Verbandsliga Baden in 2001, only a year after the senior team had won this league, and won promotion to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in its second season there after coming second in the Verbandsliga.
After seven seasons in the Oberliga where it gradually improved season by season the team won promotion to the Regionalliga Süd after a league title in 2010. With the disbanding of the Regionalliga Süd in 2012 Hoffenheim II became part of the new Regionalliga Südwest.
O clube foi fundado em 1975 como uma equipa amadora e passou a maior parte de sua história nas divisões inferiores do futebol alemão. Em 2010, após o TSG 1899 Hoffenheim ter sido promovido à Bundesliga, o Hoffenheim II foi promovido à Regionalliga Sudwest. O clube permaneceu na quarta divisão desde então, com o seu melhor resultado sendo o quarto lugar na temporada 2014-15.
O Hoffenheim II joga os seus jogos em casa no Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion, um estádio com capacidade para 6.350 pessoas. O estádio também é usado pela equipe principal do TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
O Hoffenheim II é uma equipa jovem e talentosa, com muitos jogadores que passaram pela academia do TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. A equipa é liderada pelo treinador Marcel Rapp, que assumiu o cargo em 2021.
O Hoffenheim II é uma equipa ambiciosa e espera um dia ser promovido à 3. Liga, a terceira divisão do sistema de ligas de futebol alemão. A equipa também espera se classificar para a DFB-Pokal, a copa nacional alemã de futebol.
