Wikipedia - Chungbuk Cheongju FC

Chungbuk Cheongju FC (Korean: 충북 청주 FC), formerly Cheongju FC (청주 FC), is a South Korean football club based in the city of Cheongju that competes in the K League 2, the second tier of South Korean football. They play their home games at the Cheongju Sports Complex.

History

The club was founded in 2002 as Cheongju Solveig Football Club, and competed at amateur level.

In the 2009 season, the club joined the K3 League after changing its name to Cheongju Jikji FC. Before the 2019 season, the club merged with Cheongju City FC.

In 2022, Cheongju FC announced that they would join the professional K League 2 in the 2023 season, and also rebranded as Chungbuk Cheongju FC.

O Cheongju FC é um clube de futebol sul-coreano sediado em Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do. Atualmente disputa a K League 2, a segunda divisão nacional.

O clube foi fundado em 1992 como Cheongju Jikji FC. Em 1997, mudou seu nome para Cheongju FC. Em 2013, o clube venceu a K League Challenge, a segunda divisão nacional, e foi promovido para a K League 1. Contudo, foi rebaixado para a K League 2 em 2014.

O Cheongju FC manda seus jogos no Estádio da Copa do Mundo de Cheongju, com capacidade para 40.000 espectadores. O maior rival do clube é o Daejeon Hana Citizen FC.

O Cheongju FC tem como principais conquistas o título da K League Challenge em 2013 e o vice-campeonato da Copa da Coreia do Sul em 2017.
