Maruyasu Industries FC (マルヤス工業フットボールクラブ, Maruyasu Kogyō Futtobōru Kurabu), playing as FC Maruyasu Okazaki (FCマルヤス岡崎, Efu Shī Maruyasu Okazaki), is a Japanese professional football team based in Okazaki, Aichi Prefecture. They currently play in Japan Football League, Japanese fourth tier of nationwide football league system.
History
The club has been established in 1968 as the corporate team of Maruyasu Industries. In 1976 the team won promotion to Tōkai Soccer League where remained ever since except for 2003 and 2004 seasons when they suffered relegation to Division 2. The club has won the league in 2013 and though they were unable to take up one of three promotion-granting places in the Regional League promotion series, they were admitted to in JFL in 2014 season by the league board.
Before their first season on the nationwide level the club has changed its name to FC Maruyasu Okazaki in order to appeal more to the local community.
Okazaki começou sua carreira profissional no Shimizu S-Pulse, em 2005, e jogou pelo clube até 2009, quando se transferiu para o VfB Stuttgart, da Alemanha. Em 2013, ele foi contratado pelo Mainz 05, também da Alemanha, e em 2015, ele se transferiu para o Leicester City, da Inglaterra. Em 2017, ele foi contratado pelo Málaga, da Espanha, e em 2019, ele se transferiu para o FC Cartagena, também da Espanha.
Pela seleção japonesa, Okazaki fez sua estreia em 2008 e já jogou mais de 100 partidas, marcando mais de 50 gols. Ele participou das Copas do Mundo de 2010, 2014 e 2018, e também das Copas da Ásia de 2011, 2015 e 2019.
Okazaki é um jogador versátil que pode atuar tanto como atacante central quanto como meia-atacante. Ele é conhecido por sua velocidade, força física e faro de gol. Ele é considerado um dos melhores jogadores japoneses de sua geração.
